I mean with minimal fuss.

I think there's an extractor cut in a 24/47 but I'm not sure.

Is the shank of the barrel too short?

Sure; no problem. That feature is for people who intend to blow lots of case heads; you don't need it; The threads and headspace distances are the same. It was a solution to a small problem which is why no one else used it. And now with modern brass, a non problem. However, there are new M47 barrels out there now.

Thanks for the pics.

I have 2 nice chambered 7mmMau barrels , probably bought them from RSI years ago. I had a fellow forum-er run rings on the steps.

I don't know what that means, "run rings on the steps".

Ah, ok. I would have said TURN rings on it. Wedding rings were, and are, popular on round to octagon flintlock barrels.
