I bought a Winchester Model 70 Stealth II 243WSSM (Made in 2005) that I would like to adjust the trigger on. Does anyone have pictures and an explanation as how to adjust the trigger for pull/weight & travel/over travel? I can find explanation of adjustment online but nothing with pictures to let me know exactly what they are talking about.

Your help will be appreciated.

Look at the trigger assembly. The screw in the back, running through the trigger with the 3 ea. 1/4" nuts and spring attached is the over travel screw. You loosen the single nut, and with a small jewellers type screw driver, run the screw in and out to adjust the over travel, locking the setting by tightening the nut. Moving the 2 nuts up and down the screws shaft adjusts the weight of pull. Note, compressing the spring increases the weight of pull. The top nut of the two is a jam nut and is used to lock the weight of pull setting.

Those are half assed directions for the over travel screw. I don't have time to put the proper procedure down right now but advise you not to mess with the overtravel screw.

I do hope your comment wasn't aimed at me. If it was, you will need to wipe the brown stuff off your glasses and re-read what was written. There were no directions given, only a description of the parts involved.

I have done all of mine. Just make sure to tap the rifle with a rubber mallet or something similar after you re-install the barreled action in the stock.

Model 70 Over Travel Adjustment is as follows.
1. Loosen the locknut on the overtravel screw

2. Cock the Action

3. Turn the overtravel screw IN (clockwise) at least one turn, but far enough so that the sear doesn't release (gun doesn't fire when you pull the trigger.

4. While pulling the trigger to the rear, slowly turn the overtravel screw OUT (counterclockwise) until the gun fires.

5. Turn the overtravel screw out (counter clockwise) at least 1/4 more turn and secure the locknut while holding the overtravel screw with a screwdriver.

6. Test your adjustments by slamming the bolt home a few times and making sure it won't slamfire. Also cock the gun and strike the butt on the ground to make sure the sear holds.

My comment was directed at your ability to read. I didn't provide instructions.
