I need to borrow a bolt shroud thread tap for a Mauser. I want to borrow one; not buy or rent one. Please. It's for one bolt that the threads seem tightish. Yes I have tried ten other bolt shrouds in it.

I wish I had one to loan. If no luck, some valve lapping compound may get things loosened up.

Pitted? Damaged/nicked thread or two? Just curious.

Brownells used to sell them ? But they seemed undersized..so...therefore not of much use. I got a couple from L&N Enterprises 812 849 2192, shown as 528 x 13 HSG 4FL Buttress Bottom Tap. Works!

I'll check them out, and yes, I have a piece of drill rod that I can make one out of.
But as I said, I don't want to buy one for one bolt. I want someone to loan me one for one minute.

I've got one of the brownells ones you are welcome to borrow, if Duane prefers, but honestly would tell you to avoid them, they are not correct.

Will have to give L&N Enterprises a call and see what their specs are.
