NaphtaliLYMAN MODEL 56 RECEIVER SIGHT
On my Marlin 39A, I have Lyman's 56 sight. Is this sight designed and intended to remove/replace its horizontal bar? I ask because I want to mount a scope with Warne steel detachable mount/rings assembly. If remove/replace Lyman 56's horizontal bar will not harm its zero or harm the sight's longevity, I want to keep it affixed — that is, base affixed permanently; horizontal bar in a pocket on the sling.

Dan StoneThe Lyman 56 is not designed to be dismounted like the Lyman 48 sight. I'm sure someone could dismount it in the field but it would not be quick or easy.

AtkinsonYou have to unscrew the 56 as I recall, the 48 has a button you push down pull it out and stick it in your pocket incase your scope goes south..

The Lyman 57SA on my Savage 99 has the same release button...Give Lyman a call and have your rifle handy and tell them what you need...
