Both of my .300 H&H's have 1-10" twist barrels. They both are very accurate with 200 and 220 grain bullets.

I am going to purchase a new barrel to my M98 rifle in 300HH. Need advice regarding choosing an optimal twist. The primary bullet weight will be 200 grains but it is preferable to be able to also use 180 and 220 grains bullets. I belive that 10" is a good choice or....

Anyone?

I went with a 1in12" on mine. My reasoning was it would be more versatile. It does a fantastic job with the 180's I haven't tried the 200's in it yet.

1/10" is the BEST choice, if you will be using 220's now and then.

Definetly 1/10. Mine shoots VERY tight groups with 180s & 200s. IT's a pre-war. jorge

1:10 is a tackdriver for 180's in my 300 H&H.
