I got the same call everyone else is getting about jumping off the MRC PH fence. I have decided to go for the 416 Weatherby (460 as a back up plan). Jeff told me that it will take at least 3 down maybe 4. Does anyone have any experience with building up a rifle with a model 70 style action in this caliber? I hear all the stories about the belt causing feeding issues. Why doesn’t my 7mmRemMag, 300wm, 416RemMag have the same feeding issues? I have a 416 rem so I’d like something with a little more horse power.

I have a 416 Wby based on a CZ550 Mag action. Flawless feeding - even with empty brass. I dont think the belt will cause any feeding problems at all if your smith knows his stuff
