Lal,

Your query is a bit confusing. Most woodworkers are taught to break sharp corners a bit, likewise with metalsmiths. You are headed in the right direction regarding sharp corners. Are you refering to the apparent sharpness of some of the Germanic or Bavarian stocks at the butt end of the cheekpieces or just sharpness of 2 intersecting planes?
The reason for "breaking corners" on wood to be finished is as the finish dries it tends to shrink and pull away from said corner. A slightly rounded corner allows the finish surface to remain continuous. Regardless, any abrupt exterior corner will, with time and usage, become rounded.
As a cautionary, please go lightly in radiusing stock corners, especially on the comb nose and cheekpiece. As one is in the finishing stage, most sharp edges become slightly rounded in the sanding of same.

Rambling, I know.

Luck,

Stephen

The LUX CZ has a Bavarian style cheekpiece and it has sharp corners which I think will chip and I want these rounded.

I am going to assume you are talking more about reshaping the angular euro cheekpiece profile and not just breaking a sharp edge...

There are tons of photos of stock shapes available on this forum and other places on-line. I have a whole folder on my hard drive where I've saved pictures of styles I find pleasing. I doubt you will find somebody with before and after of precisely what you are trying to accomplish.

I say break out the files and sandpaper and go for it! (And be sure to post photos please!)

montea6b I am going to do just that. When I am done with the cheekpiece I will want to remove the remaining laquer finish. Paint stripper?
