Gentlemen,
Anyone with any experience (good, bad, or otherwise) with S & K scope mounts? I'm looking to mount a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10 x 40 on a Win M70 classic in 30-06. Any comments or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Just had a set put on a Savage 99 in 300 Savage. Dad's eyes were not up to the irons any more. Mounts are good quality and reasonably attractive. Finish was very good. It is a secure mounting system that allows a good range of windage adjustment when mounting the scope.

Just initially sighted the rifle in and had no problems in the first 20 shots or so. Can't comment past that - need to get out to the range again. I don't expect any trouble though.

redleg,
Thanks for the info. I think I'm inclined to give them a try.

Big Dipper,
I have a set of S&K rings and I must warn you. You must bend the rings apart, slip them over the scope tube, and then bend them back into shape with a pliers. I scratched up my scope trying to do all this

I suggest Conetrol or Talley if you want an elegant looking yet sturdy mount.

I live only 20 miles away from the place. I have their custom scopemount on my Ruger #1 (replacing the Ruger rings and mount). It is a well made outfit that holds securely. It should. It is only a 221 Fireball. However that scopemount solved the problem of being able to set the scope where I wanted it instead of where Bill Ruger wanted the bases to go.
