I picked up an older 760 in .270 real cheap. The problem is, the barrel has a lot of corrosion in the throat and quite a bit in the rest of the rifling as well. My question is, do any of you know of a reputable gunsmith or barrelmaker who can make me a new barrel? I'm asking because I think a 760 in .338-06 would be an awesome woods gun. Any help or advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Chuck

Look to someone to rebore it.....I'll find a link somewhere... Here's several folks that do it. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Hello Chuck, I have done several of these in the exact caliber that you request. All of them shoot great. Like Vapodog said, you may want to just get it rebored if the barrel is thick enough, if not I would be more than happy to rebarrel it for you. If you are interested just let me know. Thanks, Tip tdburns@gvtc.com P.S. To all of you guys, thanks for your kind words on M. Jines rifle.

Thanks for the replies. I think a rebore is definitely possible and worth consideration. Tip, an e-mail will be on it's way shortly for more information. Thanks again. Chuck
