I bought a nice Smith 29, blue with a 3 inch barrel, a while back with nice scroll engraving and quite a bit of gold line work. Finally got around to really examining it and when I took the combat grips off, I found the engraver's stamp.....it is hard to read, but I think it says R. P. Nott.

Anyone familiar with this engraver, where he is from, still alive? Any information would be appreciated.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Thanks, I thought of FEGA about the time I posted, but I've looked there several times for other engravers and didn't find the one I was interested in. My bad.
