I recently purchased a Sako Vixen L461 Serial No. 146XXX in 222 Rem caliber. The stock appears to be aftermarket. The Barrel and Action are all Sako. This is a Garcia era gun. There is a "B" stamped on the underside of the barrel close to the Action. What does this stamp mean? None of my other Sako barrels have this stamp, although they are from later production periods. Thank you for passing on any information you might have. rollinghills

Is your barrel marked on the underside just in front of the forend (in very light etching) "Imported by Garcia Arms Corp." or something similar?

Stonecreek : Thanks for the reply. "The Garcia Corp..Wash..D.C." is etched on the right side of the Action below the stock line. Would the stamped "B" possibly indicate a Bofors Steel barrel? It seems late. Or a second class barrel?
