One of the great pleasures in life is meeting people with outstanding skills and ability...

I have been fortunate to call John Farner (Toomanytools) a friend for the last several years, and one of the Best all around gunsmiths I have ever seen.

He just finished this Bobtail SS Commander that would put many a 1911 specialist to shame.
I had to post some pics....

Well done my friend!

SWEET TREAT !. Very nicely done as his skills proceed his reputation . tu2

My regret is that I didn't contact him prior to my Elk hunt , I would have liked to have stopped by and said howdy . We Drove right through his town .Next year I hope to do just that .

That's probably the nicest 1911 that I have ever seen.

Thanks for the kind words. I don't build many 1911s but I do enjoy building them; this one was built for my Son.

Even timed the grip screws exactly the same as each other AND on both sides. Thats attention to detail.

Built it from scratch. He didnt mine the metal or forge the steel, mind you, but created this gun from raw parts.
