Best way to strip finish on M77?
For a winter project I want to duplicate the forarm of my 308M77 on my 7magM77. Since I will be removing a lot of material I will need to refinish the entire stock. Any recommendations for a finish remover?

How about a stock checkerer?

Thanks much.

I've always used Jasco paint/expoy remover. Might take more than one application. Before I apply it I scuff the old finish with 100 grit, it breaks the surface so to speak. Also, after the stripper goes on, I wrap the stock in aluminum foil, seems to work a bit faster and prevents evap.

the stock will be nearly birch white under the finish.

Jeff: The wood isn't very spectacular so I figure I will end up staining it if it is that light. My older M77 has fabulous walnut, and the handrubbed oil finish really worked well.
