Anybody use one of these lately? I'm looking for a left hand action and this seems good on the surface. Any feedback on recent production would be greatly appreciated.

I am building one as we speak. If it turnes out as well as I believe it will, I will be using this action alot more. The theme of this rifle is a Lightweight Varmint, 6mm-284.
Thanks, Doug

I'm putting together a 300 Win Mag on one right now. Would a picture help?

I have had a SS LA MB on order since December 4, 2007. Each month I have been given a new excuse and another promise. The McMillian stock, and Kreiger barrel that were ordered at the same time have been in for two months or more.

This will be my second build off a Montana Action. I can tell you that Stiller, Kelbly, Pierce, Hall, Neseika, Bordon, Surgeon, Bat, and others all give you a delivery date and it arives within a week of that date.

I've got an LH LA barreled action on order now in 404 Jeffery. Talked to Devin day before yesterday and he said it was supposed to ship today. Hope he wasn't BSing me. I ordered it the first of March and he said the action was in stock and they would get right to work on it and it would be ready by the end of the month. Here it is nearing the end of May and no action. Jeff had been real good about giving me status feedback whenever I emailed him. I emailed him early last week and never heard back, finally called and talked to Devin. I asked Devin to call me to confirm it would ship today. I'm willing to cut them some slack since I know they are trying to get the new PH actions out the door, but two months is about all I'm willing to wait for an action they had in stock. We'll see what happens.

Got this from Jeff a few minutes ago. I'm back to being a happy camper! Smiler

Adam,

Wow, am I sorry this took so long, It is completed, I believe that Monday and Tuesday they were doing some finish work to it (ie. Bead blast, cartridge engraving on the barrel , QC, etc), I honestly thought it would go out yesterday but I will personally go out there now to let them know it has to ship today so finish it up. One thing to know, our actions are all different than they used to be, we are basically doing a lot more finish work to them in the last 9 months, anyone who got one previous to that would not have had the extra work done to them that yours has. Please let me know how you like it when it is finished up.

Jeff

This just came from Jeff. He must be reading this thread.
Wink

I personally just boxed it up and put it on my secretaries desk to ship it out.

Thanks. I'm interested in the action but just wanted to know what "current" quality is like and what delivery times are running. I'm told 30-45 days.

I just picked up a couple of more lefties in SS and one is at the smith now with a Lilja tube to be made into 35 Whelen. Great actions and a good source for us lefties wanting stainless.
I ordered these last two in Jan and MRC was offering a 10% sale on LH actions and they delivered them to me in 2-3 weeks or so.
I am very happy with the quality. Of course I am building all weather hunting rifles and not show pieces. They are smooth and have a good finish on top. Underneath the action it is a little rough but that does not bother me.
They would not be a good source if you are looking to build up a really light rifle.

I also have a 458 Lott in stainless with the MRC barrel. It feeds and ejects just fine and three down is OK but a tight squeeze. The only thing I found wrong with it is some of the edges in the magazine box were machined at such perfect angles that the magazine follower will occassionly get caught. It is a simple fix to smooth off these edges with a dremel but I never have gotten around to it yet.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
