Dreaded 22 Mag cycling...help?

My 10/22 Mag sports a Volquartsen tensioned barrel, and I am have occasional stovepipes and incomplete extractions. I'm sure the chamber is pretty snug. I tried the new 33grain vmax rounds and they are very accurate in the gun, but cycling is very unreliable.

Question is, would the Volq. extractor help? Could it be that those little 33grainers just don't provide enough OOMPH for cycling? Ideas?

Thanks

Roger

I had the same problem with 10/22 stocker. Changed extractor, ejector. Still had the same problem. Upon close inspection it looked like the feed rails had been miscut at the factory and over time had worn down somewhat. New magazine, no more problems.

I'm sure you have done this already, but if you take it apart and really clean it well then use a good lubricant it solves many problems with .22 cal automatics.
