(Safari)Rigby retro partII
OK, I'll get a JRS stock. I have some-one to slim it down somewhat. I'm going to look for small ring Mexican, but will probably go with a new action from C/D Zastava. It'll be a 7x57 with a medium weight Pac-Nor or Lothar Walther 27-28" barrel to begin with. I am even considering a stainless action and barrel. Ok I'm hidding sofa. If I go this way (stainless) barrel-band front sights and sling swivvels in stainless? Also if some of you have pictures of Rigby, W/R or early Mauser commercial 1&2s would you please contact me P/M so I might see some. Thanks, capt david troll

Don't understand the need for a 27-28" for the 7X57. But it's your choice. I found a new Daly 24" barreled action in 7X57 for $250. It is a light sporter. It has no trouble getting MOA. Buy your JRS and have a nice rifle for less than $350. Watch the gun auctions. The old MarkX show up stocked for less than $400. I have used the MarkX and now the Daly for 25-30 years. I have never had one that couldn't get MOA with the factory barrel.

As usual just my $.02

I just want a long barrel. Many of those had 27" barrels. Besides, I find it much easier to have one cut off than to have it glued on, hehe. capt david troll

David,
of course you'l stamp 275 rigby on the 7x57, so let's call it that.... Wink

here's how i would think about it..
sever drop british style stock, though german would work

butterknife bolt handle

(this are cool, but not worth the trouble) double triggers

1936 mexican mauser with correctbolt OR a brazilian with crest

euro taper 26" barrel... might even be stepped

jeffe

opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club
