Anyone have or know of any pics or diagrams showing the inner works of a greener style safety? Basically showing how it block the triggers. Don

Don, Send me an email reminder, I will try and get mine out this week and do a "photo essay". I cannot make any promises, bad week and worse weekend, but I will try. Might be worth a look in "Greener, the gun and it's development, 9th Edition". . Previously 500N with many thousands of posts !

Yes, I have often wondered how the Greener safety worked with the Mauser 98 rifles I have seen them pictured with. I actually ordered one from NECG with the idea of fitting it to a French MAS 36. I have not yet figured out what to do with it. That $100 bolt(what my wife called it the day it arrived by mail from Germany) is still sitting in my parts drawer. DR #2276, P-100 2021

I`m not sure but I think Greener safety works only with original type triggers.

Hello Don I don't have a picture but as I recall its like an eccentric, as the safety is rolled, the eccentric inside rolls up and "holds" the sear in battery.

The one I have (parts of at least) The rod is completely round, it has the detents to lock it it either position but nothing to engage the sear. Trying to figure out what the missing parts are so I can reproduce them. Don

I think you have to make the "missing part" youself and solder it place where it locks the trigger when turning safety on. Those safetys always sold without any "part" because there os so many different action and trigger types to use them with.

Very frequently (read almost always) the tranverse rod is carefully positioned/inletted in the stock so that it interferes with some part of the trigger's mechanism. Then half of the rod's diameter is removed, thus making an 'eccentric' that will block the mechanism when in one position but clear it when in the other position. Not rocket science but will require some careful measurements before cutting anything. Regards, Joe __________________________ You can lead a human to logic but you can't make him think. Safe Fire Hope that helps? This safety blocks the kickoff, so even if the safety is on, the set trigger will "fire" but will not release the cocking piece. Thanks FG! That is what I invisoned after JD's comments. I assume you meant blacks the sear, not the kick off. Where as it would work the same with a original single trigger the same as the DST. Don
