I receintly aquired a Geco that has a G33 action.
What do I have? What kind of pressure can this small ring action take? Do you know anything about Mr. Genschow's Geco rifles? Quality? WHat is this G33? It is in a 8X57 with a 20 inch barrel and weighs about 6 3/4 lbs. Not drilled and tapped. Bent bold with the underneath side checkered. Island sight with one standing and one folding leaf. Steel butplate, barrel sling but not a band. Any info
Thanks!

I'm not too familiar with them. The only Geco's I have seen are inexpensive prewar .22 boy's rifles. If this is a small ring and marked G33, I would throw out a guess only that it is built on a G33/40 action. If so, it don't get much better than that. If not, and it's built on a M93 small ring or such, it's not much.

Thanks! Where would I find such a mark? under the action? Also it is a 98 action for sure. It does have a proof mark of an eagle that I cannot find in my proof book. I fogot to say that it has an engraved floor plate and trigger gard.

Aaron,

The only G33/40 I have fondled was marked "G33/40" along the left rail, just behind the front receiver ring. They are very nice, sadly that specimen had been buffed [heavily] and had no sharp edges whatsoever left on the action -- or I would be looking at it right now, giving you a better description.

Sounds like a nice rifle.
