I have found a few Sako peep sights on ebay, they mount onto the rear dovetail rail on the rifles. Does anyone know if these sights would hold zero after removal? I have 2 identical Sako .375H&H rifles that I keep, one here and one in Australia. I want to use use the peeps as backup in case the scope gets damaged or lost... Both rifles have pivot QSD mounts so I would also like to be able to use the peep sight instead of the standard irons. Would I have to re-zero each time I put the peeps on?

A friend of mine uses a Sako peep sight on his Sako chambered in .270 Winchester. He has not needed to re-zero his after removal.

I have used a Sako Forester in .308 win sice 1970. I have had very good results in the sights holding zero. I have missed when I had the apetore ajusted for the wrong distance. You will never hit the target if you don't take the shot.
