'98 bolt question

I put an aftermarket bolt shroud on my Mauser and somehow lost the bolt stop spring and plunger assembly. Is it necessary, or will things function ok minus these parts. Don't want to mess anything up by shooting it without knowing.

Work your bolt several times and try to rotate the shroud with the bolt open....it's ncessary for correct functioning.....maybe someone has a source for these parts.
