Suggest you contact ACGG @ acgg.org They should be able to put you in touch with a "checkering specialist"

Do a search for Sherry Abraham checkering on google. She does very nice work and has done some spectacular pistol grips. It has been awhile since I have been on her site, but she used to have some great pics of her work.

Or Pat Taylor in Canby Oregon, 503-266-3684. Pat was the checkering supervisor at Kimber and taught all the women who worked there including those at Ruger and a few other semi custom shops.
