A good way to tell is by the depth of the front of the recess for the front guard screw; on the two piece, it is .190 inch deep. On the one piece, it is .350 deep. I just measured some for you. What metal do you have? A two piece bottom can easily be installed in a one piece stock, using either an adapter they make for $8, or just use a washer under the front screw. I have used many new stocks, on old two piece rifles. As for pre 64 ones, those are collectors items; not for serious use, and were not the quality you think they were. Like anything else, once you can't get it, guys worship it.

One more piece of hate PM won't hurt; I get them all the time for stuff I post! Thin skinned people should not read anything I write. Unless I am wrong, which I ain't.
