Thank you
P.s I was planning on a Kreiger barrel
and a McMillian LOD stock.
Thats what I was trying to find out.
If you want smth bigger with the same action lenght you can consider the .338/378
a 200 gr bullet at 2520 fps
a 300 gr bullet at 2750 fps
With a great accuracy. Good and more powerful alternative to .340 Wby.

A good friend has a .338/8mm, and it requires no modification to the action, is simple to load for (just run the 8mm brass into a .338 Winchester FL die backed out the right distance and seat with a .338 Win seater). His velocities run 3200 with 200 to 210 grain bullets and 3000 with 250's.
The .338 Ultramag will fit your bolt face without alteration, is the right length for your magazine, and will require only minmal feed rail alteration for the slightly fatter case (you'll probably lose one round of magazine capacity). The velocities you can achieve from it should be similar to the Lapua, and in practical terms, little different from the .338/378. I consider it about the largest practical case for a hunting .338.
Good Luck!
