Installing a sling swivel in carbon fiber. Having never done it, I'm a little concerned with splintering.

Has anyone done this? What type bit , speed , surface prep, etc. for good results?

Thanks.

never done it. always had them predrilled. i do know that you will need something behind it. some type of epxy/resin. maybe a threaded insert set in the resin mix.
if no one can answer try a hobby shop[good one]. lots of airplanes are now being built in carbon. someone there might be able to let you know or get the stuff for you.
good luck

Thanks Woofer. Good advice.

I figure a sharp brad-point and maybe a smidge of epoxy to freeze the surfaces might do it but I'll call a shop I know of and wait for some input from others before I make a move.
