Longest Cartridge in Rem. 700

What's the longest cartridge overall length a Remington 700 action (currently on a LH 7 mm Rem. caliber rifle) will accept?

Is the same action usable in 340 Wby? 416 Rem?

The RUM cartridges, the 8mmRemMag (and it's decendants
the 7mmSTW & 358STA) and the 375H&H are all the same OAL.

.416 Rem belongs to the .375 H&H/8mm Rem Mag family of cartridges as well. The .340 Wby should be OK, as it has the same case length as the .300 Wby Mag - both based on the .300 H&H.

In a Rem700 BDL in 8mmRemMag I can get just a bit over 3.65". Is it possible to extend this any further?? Personally I wouldn't have a clue.

Yes,
the RUM and HH based cases are the same length OAL... but the RUM holds what, 10 to ~30% more, depending if it's a 375 webby vs rum or 300 HH vs rum.
