one more thing, if there is already lug setback, you really should clean up the lug and re-heat treat tothe proper hardness. I missed the lug setback when i originally read the post. Get one of the barreld actions from Samco and stock it, and you are good to go. | ||

They have been, and yes, sometimes they don't blow up. It is like driving 110 mph in a chevette, it might do it and not kill you, but why take the unecessary risk. Take a look at rebarrelin with one of the new surplus swede barels from Samco or an adams and bennet or the like in 6.5 swede. | |||

About 8 years ago Kimber bought up a bunch of 96's and sporterized them, offered them in the 6.5, .243 & .308 (maybe 7mm-08 too) They were cheap, my 6.5 cost under $300, Nickle plated, plastic stock, d&t'd for scope. | |||

Yes, Kimber 96's were offered in 7-08. Also in 22-250. | |||
