Two candidates for making up a 9,3 x 63. 1. Mark X, now in 30-06. 2. winchester M-70, now in 6.5x55. I think the bolt face, feed ramp and feed rales should be straight forward for someone who knows his stuff (duh, obviously). My question is about the magazine box. Four down would be nice. I would like to avoid having to comission a custom magazine box. That would cost more than the entire rest of the rifle. Are there any Blsckburn offerings that would turn the trick. I could live with three down in the Winchester if the factory (or a factory) box would work with the new Williams bottom metal. Thanks a lot for your help. lawndart

Can you clarify what calibre you want to build? You have 9.3x63 listed which is not a factory round. There are 9.3x62 calibre rifles, 9.3x64 and a new 9.3x66 that sako has just brought out. I suppose a 9.3x63 would be a 9.3 calibre on a std 06 case which is 63 mm long

LD, I assume that 9.3x62 was mis-key and you meant x62. If such is the case and you're doing a 9.3x62 on a 30-06 action, it aught to be close to plug and play. Sure there may be some fine tuning involved, but I think it would be close to a slam dunk... Or is the 9.3x63 a real cartridge? Jason "Chance favors the prepared mind."
