Winchester 94/55 dissassembly

I recently bought a shooter grade Winchester model 55 solid frame, 32 Special. Ammo will arrive shortly, but the trigger is awful. Hopefully, it just needs cleaned and lubed.
I've been fiddling with guns for decades and there are plenty of disassembly videos on You Tube, but I have one real concern before I start.

The screw heads on this gun are absolutely virgin. I just cringe when I see buggered screw heads on any gun. So, the first thing I did was order a set of screw driver bits from Brownells specifically for a top eject model 94. After cleaning the screw slots, the bits appear to fit from good enough to perfect.

Do these screws to usually come out with reasonable effort? Can any of the pros here share any tricks or concerns I should be aware of?

Define Awful. I have had 20 Model 94s and none were actually bad.
As for the screws, they can be tight from all the decades. Best way to avoid marring them is to set it up in a mill and use the pressure to keep the bit in place.
Use a trigger pull gauge and tell us how bad it is.
Maybe yours aren't all that tight.

My trigger pull gauge only measures to 72 OZ (4.5 Lbs.). With the 72 OZ preload on the trigger, the remaining pull is acceptable, maybe another 4 Lbs.

A previous owner polished the receiver to white metal without disassembling it. There are probably traces of polishing grit throughout the interior including sear surface.

A trigger pull of about 4 lbs and crisp is do-able, and new screws from Brownellsk suits me on a shooter and a collector should be OK with any trigger left alone and as original IMO.

All screws came out with appropriate torque and no damage. I cleaned a lot of oily/dust crap out of the action and lubricated the sear/hammer. The trigger pull may have improved slightly.

One of these 90+ degree days, I'll take it apart again (and again, and again) to stone the sear. The current sear angle produces a lot of hammer lift before disengaging.
