anything that will take a RUM cart will work fine, or model 70, as it's based off the 404

Actually any standard action will accept the 7mm Dakota, you don't need a Ultra Mag action to use the dakote. The Dakota was designed to work through a standard length (3.4 inch) magazine. Since it uses the 404 Jeffery it will require opening the bolt face. So if you want to use a Winchester, go right ahead, you can basically use almost any actio you can get.

Thmpr- My 7mm Dakota is on a Ruger 77 tang safety(push feed). 26" Schneider poly rifled barrel. 140gr xlc @ 3470 using Re-22. If you decide on the Dakota, I would suggest keeping your boltface at .532 instead of opening to .545. Buy a set of Redding form dies and make cases from Rem Ultra-mag cases. That is what I am now doing and it works great. Will be cheaper for you as cost to open boltface plus cost of 100 pieces of 7mm Dak. brass will likely be at or more than form dies. Just a thought.
