I don't know if anyone here is aware of what j&r engineering is but I figure you can at least give me some ideas or advise towards this issue.

J&R engineering is the only company in the world that manufactures electronic checkering machines, i.e. dentist drill with a side cutting circular wheel head. This isn't a cheap machine, the package ran me almost $2,000. I ordered this machine late last year with a time frame of 4 months max wait time, I am now almost 7 months into the wait. After a few emails I recieved one from j&r engineering which stated my machine was going in the mail as of 3/23/2013. As you can guess by the nature of this thread that it hasn't arrived. Since the week of 03/30/2013 I have been emailing and calling j&r engineering, with no response whatsoever. I know someone is checking the email and phone messages as the inbox on the phone is cleared out everytime it becomes full and the emails have read reciepts attached. This coupled with the fact he had given me a shipping time frame leads me to belive he's dodging my phone calls and emails.

Is it time to phone a laywer/ police in his area or try and file a claim with PayPal as that's the method he was paid with.

The wait time isn't what concerns me, it's the fact he has misled me multiple times and won't return my phone calls/ emails. If he were to just pick up the phone and call and tell me honestly I had to wait another 4 months I would be ok with that, just no more of this BS dodging and false dates.

Again just looking for other options than contacting an authority, I know he must be busy (or I would like to think so) and don't want to kill his business as I know can happen with a one man shop when a laywer/ court is involved.

Jon's been running his business this way for quite a while. I wish someone would buy his business and run it professionally. When you can get them, his tools are top notch, but his business is a disaster. Actually worse then what Blackburn's was, and that's saying a lot. It's quite a dilemma your in. He's the only game in town so you want to be patient to get the tools, but can you afford to lose your money? I've been right where you are and I waited, finally getting the tools, but I won't order again.

If you paid with PayPal I would raise the issue with them for not receiving you purchase. Maybe they can put a touch of pressure on him.

As usual just my $.02

Via both phone call and e-mail, insist that a tracking number be sent to you via e-mail.

If you don't get a tracking number within three days, file a claim with PayPal.

I believe it's too late for paypal. Unless the rules have changed, there is a 45 day period to file for a refund.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

I just got off of the phone with Jon Doirons sister. On Sunday Jon had a debilitating accident while on vacation. He is in critical condition in the hospital and needless to say the orders that aren't filled aren't getting filled. His sister and wife are handling the situation with refunds to those who didn't get a machine. If you have a machine on order and haven’t received notification I would encourage you to call:

617-593-1593
508-277-2813

He had a few machines in his vehicle that were to be mailed out and will be in a short order by his children.

Again I have no personal connection other than the order placed and a request by his sister to inform others. All questions should be directed to the phone numbers above.
