I noticed Browning had some small ring FN actioned 243 and 308's. Were they shorter actions than a standard '98?

Thoughts/feedback on these actions? What cons are there on the small ring action? Barrel weight limit?

Thanks.

Oh, are they similar to a G33/40? Thanks.

Those were standard large ring actions that were turned down at the factory. As far as I know, they all still used large ring barrels. It was deemed safe for the .243 and .308, but wan't done with any of the larger cartridges.

The G33/40 used small ring barrel threads. I have a Brno 22F that has been rebarreled to 9.3x62, and it is a sweet shooter.
