ok... since I'm having problems with feeding a short action push feed m70 Winchester in 17 mach IV, ive decided to make it a single shot... not permanently, but only until I can get it to feed... so I need a plate made to fit in the rails of this short action that will blank off the magazine box.... I've seen a remington 40x that was made into a single shot... don't know if anybody does this commercially for a Winchester or not??... go big or go home ........ You could make such a thing yourself from sheet stainless, bending a slight dip to locate the round before cutting the piece to fit. But if cartridges slide off the full-up follower OK, why not leave it as it is and just load singly? If you worry that you might forget your resolve, perhaps you could put something(s) in below the follower to stop it being compressed. Maybe the spring could be removed and a block of pine could replace it. | |||
