I'm looking for a Smith in the Central Oklahoma area to rebarrel a M77 Ruger. Currently it is a 7MM RM I was thinking of going to either the 300 WSM or 270 WSM. The local guy here won't do it he says it's to involved and his insurance company won't allow anything but same caliber.Any help is appreicated.

Spunds as if your local guy is not too flexible. It may take some work on the feeding, but it could be done if you are not adverse to sending it to MN.

Sounds like your local smith works for a chain store and has his hands tied or just doesn't want to deal with feeding issues. Nothing wrong with the latter if he feels it's too involved, better than getting a poor job. You'll find plenty of folks who can do it if you want to send it out.
