enfield question
M17-

are both action screws parallel, and at 90 degrees to the receiver?

I want to make a jig to straighten trigger guards.

thanks.

The rear screw is on an angle. I have a commercial jig (brownells) if you need a pic or any measurements. Very simple to make.

I use the receiver itself for a jig. Just clamp the bottom metal, magazine box, and receiver all together with the rear screw in place.

Then after the front section is ground and fit how you want it, just hold it in place with stacked washers to get the right height.

Then, weld away. Both screws, and the mag box are holding everything in position.

as far as I can tell, Brownells doesn't carry the jig anymore- I thought about buying one for years, and didn't do it.

Don, if you have a pic, I'd appreciate it.

thanks again.

Here it is, note the set screws to hold everything in place and the hole to weld through.
