Can somebody tell me about these actions. They appear a lot like an FN action, but no not have any FN Markings. They are marked Husqvarna.
No thumb cutout. Do they have a C ring or an H ring.

Depends on the action. 99.624% have the H ring. Except the ten I have stashed.

I understand that for shooting purposes, but for buying and selling purposes it does seem to make a difference. Cool

That's what I used to say when I didn't have any "C" ring commercials. Now that I do, I have a whole list of reasons why they're better! Big Grin

clip charger hump and slot on rear bridge = C-ring

flat commercial rear bridge = h ring

I believe the changeover was around 1948-1949

both had the Swede crown on the front ring and solid left walls

There are two beauties at the Cabela's in Rogers Minnesota. Pristine metalwork. They want quite a bit more than they are worth, but by summer they will be willing to deal on them. Hope they are still there by then.

Not necessarily. Many of the Humped recivers were "H" rings. I have two or three right now.

You are taking a chance if you shop using that assumption.

An H-ring never stopped me from buying a commercial FN at a fair price.

WOW! That is something I didn't know. And I not doubting you, but I would love to see some photos. To be honest I have believed that the H-ring only showed up on flat commercial bridged receiver that I am having trouble making my self believe that such a thing could exist.

BTW, the "flat commercial rear bridge" does not indicate an H-ring. I have an FN banner action with the flat rear bridge(no hump or speed loader notch) and it has the C-ring. I believe I bought it from Ramrod

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

1948 was when they went to H-rings regardless of configuration.

Maybe FN, but some Husqvarna rifles had a "C" ring into 1949. Remember, Husqvarna bought FN actions. It may have taken them a wee bit longer to work through the inventory.

Possible. I've never seen a C-ring on a 1949 gun. I have 2 1948 FN/HVAs with H-rings, both have charger humps but no thumb cuts, not D&T'd.
