45LCshooter45 Winchester Magnum carbine
I read of a guy converting M1 carbines to 45 Win. Mag. some years back, and the conversion cost about as much as a decent carbine you would have to supply for the conversion.
The article came to mind when I saw several Winchester 100s advertised around on the internet. The only real glitch I see in a conversion would be the cartridge length; would this be a problem? What would be a better platform for such a carbine?

HunterJimThat would be LeMag who was doing the M-1 Carbine conversions to .45 Win Mag.
I don't know about the M100 Winchesters in conversions, I don't have any experience.
I read reports that the various rounds done in AR-15 uppers seem to work (.50 Beowulf and etc.).

Check out the 458 SOCOM. 300gr at 2100fps., 500gr. at 1350fps. Do not need to modify the magazines.

LeftoverdjI sure would not put any serious money into a Win 100 conversion. Replacement parts are simply too hard to find.
The poor man's route would be to hunt around for one of semi-auto carbines Ruger once made in .44 mag. I'd even leave it in 44 mag.
