Ok more questions; What if I was to rebarrel a Sauer .300WBY to 7mm? could I neck the WBY cases to 7mm? Here's an offshoot - I thought of this because I have 2 identical Sauer rifles...what would become of the 7mm if it was necked up to 30cal? Something like a .300WSM?? I dont know what all these questions might sound like to you guy's, patience... but I've been overcome with the desire to make a wildcat that will shoot very flatly. Thanks

I assume that this is the 7mm Remington Mag you mentioned in a previous post. The 7mm Rem Mag necked up to 30 cal is basically the 308 Norma Mag (or 30-338 Mag if you prefer). The 300 Weatherby necked down to 7mm (7mm-300 WBY) is ballistically the 7mm STW. Both pretty good cartridges in their own right. Do you prefer fatter/heavier bullets going slower or skinnier/lighter bullets going faster? FWIW - Dan
