Ossi_IcelandMini Mausers, who has them now?
Made one in ,204 Ruger. Bought the action new in 2004 as a Zastava. Soon I saw Remington was selling them.
For reasons to embarrassing to explain I need a bolt shroud for that thing.
Where would one find a useful thing like that?

LesBrooksOssi-Iceland,
I have replaced the mini Mauser bolt shroud with 98 Mausers after a little alteration. I started this in 1988 and several have made the conversions so that a better safety can be made like the picture. A couple of thread are removed from the 98 and turned to the same dimensions as the little mini shroud, then make a sleeve to fit the inside of the LR 98 shroud for a press fit. You will need to file flats on the insert before it will fit. I leave a round section of .060 on the sleeve to stop when you press it into the LR 98 shroud for the firing pin spring to stop against. This is a cut and fit or the spring will be too long. Make the safety small to match the mini Mauser. It does take some skill to make all the changes and understand the safety function to the trigger.
I have a few of the old style shrouds that I removed to make the change over.

Ossi_IcelandVery interesting.
Would have thought the 98 shroud to be bigger.
Will look into that.
Thanks Les.
