Have been taking a look at the CZ site, specifically the 550. Note that some have a
"Single Set Trigger". Just wondering how this works. I am familiar with the operation of the double set trigger.

Normal operation is just like a standard trigger, for "set" operation you push the trigger forward to set it.
To "unset" the CZ trigger you put the safity on and pull the trigger or you can open the bolt and pull the trigger if you prefer.

Thanks

One more question.

Is the CZ trigger adjustable -in either the standard mode or set trigger mode of operation.

Both. Normal: 3 screws if you remove stock. Very good advice in manual. Set: screw out bottom of trigger.

My advice: adjust normal trigger ( start with trigger travel, thats the screw without lock nut ) and forget about the set feature.

Trigger is excellent and versatile, but the set variant is nothing compared to a Steyrs or double trigger set trigger.

I have used both DST's and SST's on hunting rifles, and the double-set is by far the best for hunting. It is sometimes difficult to set a single-set type if you are wearing gloves or have cold fingers!1 The double-set is much easier and safer to set and unset under field conditions!! Most Americans don't like set triggers. However, I consider a good double-set to be the best possible hunting trigger. BUT YOU HAVE TO PRACTICE USING IT SO IT BECOMES INSTINCTIVE!!

I agree with Eldeguello in that a double set trigger is the best of all triggers and I especially like it for running shots. When set, you merely touch it when the sights are right on your running game and he will do flip flops.....
