What is the size of the cart, and what is it comparable to? I was looking at one ( a K31) and the rifle looks to be very well made. Aint nuthin deader than overkill

Half way between 30-06 and .308win, it give the best with the military GP11 bullet that has a particulare profile. Very precise. K31 is also very precise, and Swiss people love 300 meter shooting using iron sights. bye Stefano Waidmannsheil

If you are familiar with, or have access to data on, the .30/.284 wildcat, they are almost identical. I have both, and the ammo is interchangeable between them. When loaded to full pressure, they are more similar to a 30-06 than a .308 Winchester in performance. For brass, you can probably get some Swiss cases in your neck of the world, but if you can't, .284 Winchester brass works just fine. Simply expand the neck to .30, and insert powder and bullet. Graf & Sons also has loaded ammo from Prvi Partisan (Bosnia?...anyway formerly Yugoslavia), and Hornady (USA), and empty Hornady-made brass available. If you are willing to use iron sights, you can't get a much better made ex-military rifle for the money. Alberta Canuck My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

All, Graf & Sons is currently out of 7.5 x55mm brass and won't be resupplied for at least 6 mo's. It seems that their supplier violated an agreement and sold the Graf's brass to someone else (at a higher price of course.) However, Graf's and Black Hills Shooter's Supply, just to mention a few sources, had .284Win. brass as of 3/14/05. Hope this helps, ...Maven

The K31 is not too happy with 7.5 Swiss dies. The K31 has a wider shoulder. As stated above, the .284/30 would be closer.

GP-11 is a near ballistic twin to 7.62NATO The Swiss say their case length is 55.5mm(2.185"). Norma's CIP standards shows max case length as 55.6mm(2.1890") Most trim from 2.170 to 2.180" Some cast case chambers and find that it extends past 2.2". Probably 175 Berger VLD's and maybe other VLD's will give a close approximation to the GP-11's profile. 30/284 dies headspaces about .020" further out than the 7.5X55. The 30/284 die might be a better fit for the K-31's chamber at the shoulder area as long as the brass headspaces OK. I'd think that 30/284 sized brass probably will not chamber in any of the 11 type rifles(unless the shoulder dia is reduced to around .465" or less) as the max chamber dia in those rifles is .010 to .015" less at the shoulders than in the K-31's Iron sights are the most commonly used sights, although peep/diopter sights and scope mounts are available. Clark, I don't understand why you say the K-31 "is not too happy with 7.5mm dies." Is it possible the die set you have/had was for the Model 1911, which has a different chamber than the K-31? E.g., I have two 7.5 x 55mm die sets, a Redding and a CH, which FL resize brass for my K-31's perfectly. In fact, with the Redding FL die, I back it off enough to leave ~1/16" at the neck-shoulder junction unsized and have no problems chambering the loaded rounds in either rifle. Cases last for 15-20 cycles using cast bullet loads (none is faster than 1,830fps.).
