Does Remington use a different size boltface for the 7.62X39 and PPC cartridges? Or, is it just a different extractor?
They get by just fine with the .473 bolt in the .35 Remington (.460), but the .445 case head of the PPC is just too small to work.
Do I need a new bolt, or can I just change extractors on my .473 bolt? Thanks for the help,,,,,,,,,,,Bug.

It's the little things that matter.

I would think you would have to make a little insert thingy (technical term) for bolt face and install a Sako extractor. Pretty easy to do.

I don't remember Remington having those chamberings. The cheapest is a new bolt from Dave Kiff{PT&G}.

I used a M700 action, that was originally a 22-250, for three years as my Varmint Hunter rifle chambered in 6PPC. I never had a failure to extract a PPC case.

I cheated on that one: PPC cartridges in a 308 Bolt face action. Buy six boxes of Norma or RWS 220 Swift brass and run them carefully into a 6PPC file and trim die...you now have the 6PPCR...rimmed. It was a stopgap measure in the late 1980's when the PPC brass was not available. Worked great.
