I have a Husqvarna rifle '96 (9.3x57 converted to 9.3x62), cock on closing, etc. that needs to be re-checkered. The pattern isn't standard nor is there any on the forend.

I wonder if anyone here would like to "fix it up a bit". I certainly don't need super quality work on it, and if it gets screwed up, what the heck, I'll just go ahead and re-stock it. Anyone interested in giving it a shot? Maybe someone just getting started in the trade, but at least a journeyman?

You may wish to contact Ahlmans in MN. They do good work at a reasonable price.

If you're willing to pay a fair price for well-executed checkering with quick delivery, try Tim at classiccheckering.com. Not necessarily the very best or fanciest but IMO he's BY FAR the best value for the money. BY FAR!
Regards, Joe

Yeah well I need more time to develop the skills.
I get a few crossed lines and an over run here and there.

Folks:

Thank you for your responses, by p.m., here and by email.

The gun is not going to be fixed, alas. It failed a headspace test and with the little money I have in it, I'm just going to get my money back.
