If it was handloads I would suggest that it was a problem he could fix, but if it's a tight chamber with factory loads then he should send it back. No matter how many rounds are put throught it, you can't break in a tight chamber.

If the gun is a CRF M70,you did feed the cartridges from the magazine didn't you? If not try it this way and see if the problem goes away. You just didn't try and drop them in the chamber and close the bolt? Some of the Rem 300 ultramag brass also seems to have thick rims. Are your Rims showing signs of brass shearing off?-Rob

CHRIS, Here is something that you can do to help isolate the problem. With a empty rifle, cock the action and put the safety in the center position and remove the bolt from the action. Depress the lock button at the rear of the bolt, on the stricker assembly and unscrew the striker from the bolt. DONOT move the safety until AFTER the striker is returned to the bolt. With the striker removed the bolt can be returned to the action and work in an non-stressed manner. First try the bolt and see if there is any roughness in it. Place a cartridge in the magazine and fed it into the chamber. If there is no difficulty try it again with the cartridge just placed on the follower. If the is no difficulty the problemis in the striker assembly. If the cartridge feeds from the magazine but only with difficulty from the follower, is the bolt a push-feed or a controlled feed. The control feed will have the extractor on the side of the bolt. This will be the large claw extractor. If the extractor and ejector are located in the face of the bolt the it is a push feed. The control feed is not intended to feed a round from off the follower. It will do it, but then it is necessary to force the claw extractor around the rim of the case. This can be difficult. If the action is a push feed there should be no problem feeding from the magazine or the follower. If the action is a control feed, always load from the magazine. If this doesn't cure the problem or at least answer your questions return the rifle to the factory via ups. If you try to work on it you may void the warranty. I hope that this is of some help. Good luck. ------------------
