I had an AR-15 NRA Match rifle built by Compass Lake Engineering. Frank suggested the Bushmaster as it has the proper-sized (Mil-Spec) pins in it. Some of the other vendors (Colt) have oddball pins to make them intentionally incompatible with military uppers. Frank did a trigger job for $90 that involves replacing aluminum with carbide wher it counts. An absolutely perfect trigger. I also got a 1:8 24 inch heavy Krieger barreled upper. The thing shoots sub-moa ten shot groups with any reasonable bullet. With 80 gr. Sierras I get ten shot groups in the fives. It never had a group over an inch until I tried some PMC factory loads - two inches! I never tried to shut off the gas system - I can't see why I'd want to. Don

quote: JP Enterprises makes an adjustable gas block that would work. You can adjust the gas flow, but not as a "valve" type deal. It involves a set screw. A bit more work, but if you really want the option, it's your best bet.

In my opinion, if you want the best--and I mean BEST--AR15 you can possibly have, check out these folks: ------------------
