good question and got me curious as I didn't know the answer offhand. the reason I ask is that I work at a power plant and they have some drill rod that a guy got for me. The smaller rod has a yellow end and the larger diameter rod is red. He did not know what material it was as far as O-1, A-2 ect. I was trying to find out what the type it is | |||

I'm not a machinist and don't know what colors are what .I obtained these from a machine shop and they definitely knew what was what . I have M2 Steel which is Red coded , I have D-2 Drill rod which is White coded . | |||
