I've been monitoring GunBroker and Guns America looking for 257 Bob Mauser barrel. These guys are way out of my price range selling them for around $1300 and up. Anyone know whats special about their barrels or are they fishing for suckers.

Are you talking about the Mauser M03 barrels???

Those barrels are not for a 98 Mauser; they are for the new ones (03) that have the locking recesses built into the barrel. High end stuff, not for the peasants, but still way overpriced.

$400 for the cost of the barrel.
$900 for the made in Germany marking.
