It helps a lot if you tell where the stock is....

Please see my location at the base of my post. It is in Florida, USA. But, I would rather be fishing in YOUR country.
..with respect,
Alex

Exactly what type of finish would you like? Obviously an oil finish but how fine? Gloss? satin? Checkering? Recoil pad and grip cap?

What grade of wood?? What kind of wood?

JUst a "military" finish. Nothing requiring an artistic hand. I have the wood (walnut). I need the stock final-inletted, and sanded/reduced to ordinary military dimensions.
Actually, if someone could accept the wood and barreled action from me, and then just inlet and sand the wood to final, correct dimensions.....I could then apply the oil finish, myself. I would also send the barrel bands and sling swivel to allow reduction of the stock at the respective sites.

I would recommend you call Darrell at Custom Gun Shop in Geneva, Idaho. He has been a gunsmith for 55+ years. He has set thousands of Mausers and sounded interested in your project when I spoke with him this morning. He is reasonably priced and has good turnaround time. Call him at (208)847-3270. Chris
