I recently picked up a gun that has been rechambered. We are trying to get a good cast of the chamber without removing the action so we can confirm the caliber. We are using Cerro-safe. HOw can we get a good cast on a bolt action rifle without pulling the barrel? Any help would be appreciated.

redleg172: I have never done it, but I did run across this article that may be helpful to you:

Good luck!

I did my first chamber cast this weekend. Very easy, follow the advice on warming the barrel first. Good news is if you make a mistake you can just remelt the cerrosafe and do it again.
