Since the Silvers Pads are supposed to be "period"correct for Classic British style rifles.

They offer two colors ,orange and red.Is the red "period" correct, for classic British Rifles?

I like the looks of the red better but want "period" correct color on a couple of projects I will be having put together.

I don't know about real english authentic, but both colors of pad will darken a shade or two as they age.

Which can be accelerated GREATLY by leaving the pad out for a few days of bright sun. Evenly expose the pad to the light. The UV light oxidizes the surface rubber, which both hardens and darkens the pad.

If you want to darken/antique a bit more, soak the pad in black coffee for a few hours - before the sun treatment.
