Guys, I have a naive question. Can "standard" actions, such as a Remington 700 SA, be made to extract rimmsed cases like a 22 Hornet? I know feeding may be a problem, but I'm willing to live with a single shot. If not, are there any reasonably priced actions (i.e. under $500) that can handle Hornet cases AND the barrel threads are not metric? Regards, Kory

Chic, Thanks for the link -- looks very interesting. I'll try to dig up some info on that rifle (I don't know too much about Winchesters other than the Model 70). I've been meaning to ask you another question on a completely different topic: gun stocks. I'm putting together a rifle, and in the past, I've always used Claro Walnut. I'm thinking of going with English Walnut this time, and I was wondering if you can give me the pro's and con's of these two woods, and if you know of any pictures online comparing the finished stock of two similar rated stocks. This is going to be for a light walking sporter style rifle. Thanks, Kory
